Teeth Whitening in NYC
With professional teeth whitening, you can achieve a dramatic difference in your smile in a short amount of time. Our practice uses the KöR teeth whitening system, which is widely recognized as the world’s most effective whitening treatment. There’s no need for lasers or hot, uncomfortable lights and KöR products can be used at home or in our office.
With KöR whitening, your teeth will be up to 16 shades lighter once treatment is complete. Although every patient is different, the KöR Whitening System generally produces stunning results, even for teeth discolored by tetracycline, tobacco use, or other stubborn stains.
Depending on the amount of tooth discoloration, you may need daily at home treatments for up to eight weeks. To achieve additional whitening, you can choose to follow up your home treatment with an in-office whitening session here at our practice.
The KöR Whitening System is unique in that it works by restoring your teeth’s ability to absorb oxygen. Then, the oxygen from the whitening gel is absorbed into your teeth, dissolving stains in the process.
The KöR Difference
We choose to use KöR products at our orthodontic practice because they:
- Are continuously refrigerated during shipment and storage for maximum efficacy
- Do not contain acidifiers, which can result in post-whitening sensitivity
- Are high potency with a safe, neutral pH
- Have trays that are custom fabricated for your teeth to prevent saliva from diluting the whitening gel
- Are made with a desensitizer to minimize discomfort
- Produce results that are permanent with proper care and maintenance
- Do not use lights or lasers, which can cause teeth sensitivity
KöR Whitening System Options
We offer the following KöR whitening system options at Stachel Orthodontics:
This at-home whitening system will give you beautiful results at a price you’ll love. Use this system for nighttime or daytime whitening.
Whitening your teeth is a breeze when you can do it while you sleep! Wear KöR-Night™ whitening trays at night and wake up to a brighter smile.
If you are unable to wear whitening trays while you sleep, try KöR-Day™ as an alternative. This system is excellent for patients who can only tolerate wearing trays for a short amount of time.
With KöR MAX, you’ll combine KöR’s at-home system with an in-office whitening treatment for optimal results. This combination is the best option for most patients with moderate discoloration and stains.
We recommend the KöR ULTRA whitening system for patients who have fluorosis, or white spots on the teeth due to excessive fluoride exposure.
The KöR ULTRA-T whitening system is designed to treat tetracycline stains, a type of tooth discoloration that was once believed to be untreatable.
Teeth Whitening FAQs
How much does teeth whitening cost?
The cost of teeth whitening depends on the KöR system you opt for. At-home whitening treatments are the most affordable option, while the systems that include an in-office whitening session are more expensive.
Is KöR whitening worth it?
Yes, we’ve chosen to offer KöR whitening because it delivers superior, long-lasting results in a short amount of time, and it does it all without the sensitivity caused by many other teeth whitening solutions. Our patients are thrilled with how their teeth look after their whitening treatments!
Is KöR whitening safe?
KöR whitening is safe and is backed by three decades of research. Millions of patients have used KöR whitening treatments to achieve beautiful smiles without harming their teeth or gums.
Is KöR whitening permanent?
If you follow our aftercare instructions, including applying periodic touch-ups, your KöR results will be permanent. There are no other whitening systems that can make this claim, which is why we’re such fans of KöR.
How long does it take for KöR whitening to work?
KöR whitening gel starts working as soon as you apply it, but it may take a few days to start seeing noticeable results, depending on how long you wear your trays. For the most dramatic results in the shortest amount of time, opt for an in-office whitening treatment.
How do you use KöR whitening?
Place a small amount of whitening gel into each tooth of the whitening trays, except in the second molars (the teeth at the back in your mouth). These videos show you how to fill the trays.
Why are my teeth yellow when I brush them everyday?
There are many reasons why your teeth might be yellow even if you brush them daily. First, it’s important to keep in mind that brushing needs to be done for two minutes twice a day in order to remove plaque and food buildup. If you’re already doing this, your teeth may be yellow because your enamel has thinned. Other causes of tooth discoloration include tobacco use, certain medications, wine, coffee, and tea.
Can yellow teeth become white again?
Yes, no matter what the cause of your yellow teeth, there’s a solution available to make them white again. We’ll help you choose the best teeth whitening system for your needs so you can smile brighter.
How do celebrities get their teeth so white?
Celebrities don’t have access to magical whitening treatments that no one else knows about—you can achieve the same results! Pairing at-home treatments with an in-office whitening treatment is the best way to get a stunning smile just like your favorite celeb.
Will my teeth get whiter if I brush more?
If your teeth are discolored because of plaque buildup, brushing them more will make them whiter, but not dramatically so. Brushing can only remove surface-level stains on your teeth.
